What is the app for?
ApplicationManager keeps companies, positions, dates, statuses and additional application details in one place. The dashboard summarizes your progress and helps you identify applications that may need a follow-up.
Getting started
- Choose German or English when you first open the app.
- Enter your first name or skip the personal profile.
- Tap New application to create your first entry.
- Enter at least the company, position and application date.
- Review all details and tap Save only when they are correct.
Create an application manually
You can enter every detail yourself. In addition to the required fields, the form includes:
- Location and source/job portal
- Employment type and work schedule
- Salary range and contact person
- Job posting link and personal notes
You can change the status later at any time. Open the entry from the dashboard or application list.
Import a job posting with scan/OCR
When creating an application, three clearly separated import options are available:
- Photograph job posting – opens the camera.
- Select image – uses an existing photo or screenshot.
- Select PDF – reads a PDF job posting.
- Select the appropriate source.
- Text recognition reads the visible content locally on your device.
- The app assigns plausible values to form fields.
- Review the company, position, location and every other suggestion.
- Correct unsuitable or incomplete details, then save deliberately.
The most reliable way to import a job link
A full posting URL can be read from a photo only when it is completely visible. A general address such as stepstone.de is not enough to identify a specific posting.
Recommended: Share from the browser
Open the job posting in your browser and choose Share → ApplicationManager. This allows the full URL and any available text to be passed directly to the app.
Alternative: Clipboard
Copy the job link or relevant posting text, then import it from the clipboard while creating an entry.
Find and edit applications
- The dashboard shows a summary and current reminders.
- Applications lists all saved entries.
- Tap an entry to view, edit or delete it.
- Statistics tiles provide a quick overview of application statuses.
Profile and language
The profile icon on the dashboard and More → Profile open the profile settings. You can change your name and personal greeting there.
The app can be switched between German and English at any time. Online help automatically opens in the currently selected language.
Backup and restore
Create a backup
Open More → Backup, select a storage location and keep the JSON file safe. It contains your applications and profile data.
Restore a backup
Under More → Restore, select a valid ApplicationManager backup.
Data and privacy
Application and profile data are stored locally on your device. OCR text recognition also runs on the device. Your application content is not automatically sent to the developer.
Frequently asked questions
Why is a recognized field incorrect?
Job postings use many different layouts. The app evaluates visible text lines but cannot always determine their meaning with certainty. Every recognized value therefore remains an editable suggestion.
Why is the company name missing?
If it appears only graphically in a logo or outside the captured area, text recognition may not receive usable company text.
Why is the contact person missing?
A person can only be assigned when the captured content contains both the name and context such as “Contact”, “Recruiter” or “Contact Person”.
Can I always back up my data?
Yes. Backup and restore are not restricted by the prepared freemium limits.
